Vanessa Fung from Hong Kong, China, and PBA champion Jason Belmonte, Australia, captured the women's and men's title in the 7th and penultimate leg of the 2010 Asian Bowling Federation Tour at Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. Fung topped the former Asian and ABF Tour ranking champion, Kim Eun Jung, Korea, 184-178 to
win her third career ABF Tour title. In an exciting men's finale, the two-hander from Down Under doubled in the 10th frame to beat local favorite Oscar, Indonesia, by seven pins, 244-237.

Hsieh Jing Liang (l.), Chinese Taipei, and Zatil Iman (r.), Malaysia, won the men's and women's Open Masters titles in the 8th Indonesia International Open Bowling Championship Saturday at Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta. Hsieh flew past local favorite, Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia, 239-166 to win the men's title and the 150,000,000 Indonesian rupiah ($16,590). Iman, used her second chance against No. 6 seed, Geraldine Ng, Singapore, to wrap up the women's title, 194-187.

4-time Bowling World Cup champion Paeng Nepomuceno (second from right) of the Philippines has finished a Level One and Bronze coaching seminar in Hong Kong from July 7-9. The Philippine bowling legend, who teamed up with the United States Bowling Congress to promote the sport around the world, held his seminar at Meifoo Bowling World. Paeng, who has won more than 100 international titles in his illustrious career, worked together with coaches from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

USBC bowling ambassador, Paeng Nepomuceno (center) of the Philippines, conducted a 4-day Level One and Bronze certification seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia. The seminar was held in the government-owned Jakarta Bowling center in cooperation with the Indonesian Olympic Committee and was organized by Isra Tahir who is the chairman of the Indonesian Bowling Federation, Jakarta chapter. Fauzi Bowo, the Governor of Jakarta, took his time to visit the seminar and to talk to the coaches.
Six out of eight medals on the final day for the Chinese Taipei spinners
Chinese Taipei's Chang Yu-Hsuan and Hung Kun-Yi ended the 24th East Asian Pacific Championship with victory in the women's and men's Masters Sunday at Central Lanes in Tamuning, Guam. In the women's single-elimination final in best-of-three game format, Chang defetaed All Events gold medalist and No. 1 seed, Sim Ui Jin, Korea, 2-0. Hung made quick work of team mate Chou Yen-Chih to cruise to the men's title, 2-0. The spinners from Taiwan captured six out of eight medals at stake on the final day of competition.

The women from Korea (pictured) and the Chinese Taipei men claimed the gold medals in the five-player team event in the 24th East Asian Pacific Championship Saturday at Central Lanes in Tamuning, Guam. In the men's playoffs, Chinese Taipei's Chou Yen-Chih fired the first 300 game of the championships. Sim Ui Jin, Korea, and Yang Nien-Hua, Chinese Taipei, earned the coveted All Events titles. The top 8 women and the top 16 men advance to the Masters finals, which will conclude the championships on Sunday.

Sim, who has won silver in Singles and Doubles thus far, carried her team with a huge 784 series to a 1977 series (219.67 ave.). Zialcita led the Guam trio with the men's best 714 series to a 1941 total (215.78). The second block and the playoffs will follow on Saturday.

The Korea women followed in the footprints of the Korean men en route to capture the title in women's Doubles in the 24th East Asian Pacific Championship Thursday at Central Lanes in Tamuning, Guam. In an all-Korean championship match, top seeded Kim Hyun Mi and Park Ju Young (pictured) easily defeated their team mates Choi Hae Yun and Sim Ui Jin, 478-359, to cruise to the title. Singles champion Park claimed her second gold medal of the championships while Sim got
her second silver medal.
Fly past Chinese Taipei to earn Men's Doubles title
Top seeded Cha Im Ho and Kim Dong Gyun from Korea (pictured) flew past No. 2 seed, Yang Nien-Hua and Hung Kun-Yi, Chinese Taipei, 468-333, to win the gold medal in Men's Doubles in the 24th East Asian Pacific Championship Thursday at Central Lanes in Tamuning, Guam. It was the second gold medal in the championships for Korea after the women's Singles yesterday. Yang, who won the gold medal in men's Singles, and Hung earned the silver medal, while Japan and Guam shared the bronze medal.
In an all-Chinese Taipei affair, Yang Nien-Hua, seeded third, defeated No. 4 seed, Cheng Hsing-Chao, 226-210, to win the gold medal in men's Singles at the 24th East Asian Pacific Championship in Tamuning, Guam. The No. 1 and No. 2 seed after the preliminaries went to local bowler Manny Tagle and Choi Io Fai, Macau, who led the 36-player field with 1307 and 1251, resp. In the semifinals, Tagle fell to Cheng, 168-186, while Choi was eliminated by Yang, 161-190. Cheng earned the silver medal and Tagle and Choi shared the bronze.

The Korean women dominated the event finishing the preliminaries in first, second, third, fifth and sixth place. In the championship match, Park defeated team mate Sim Ui Jin, 231-209, to claim the first gold medal of the championships.
Honorary President Akagi announces that bowling will be part of the 2013 East Asian Games
The 24th East Asian Pacific Championship will be held from June 7-13 at Central Lanes in Tamuning, Guam. The opening ceremony on Tuesday started with a bang as Honorary President and co-founder Kyohei Akagi, Japan (l.), announced during his address that tenpin bowling will be included in the 6th East Asian Games 2013. The competition will kick off Wednesday with the
women's and men's Singles.

The 3rd Asian Universities Bowling Championship, held at Pearl Bowling Center in Manila, Philippines from May 26-29, 2010, drew 83 students - 44 men and 39 women - from 15 universities and colleges. Players competed for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, 4-player Team, All Events (18 games), and Masters. The team from the Universiti Teknologi Mara (pictured) beat out the team from De La Salle University - Taft by 35 points to win the Overall Cup.

In the men's title match Cheng defeated No. 3 seed Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia, 217-197, to earn the 25,000 Singapore Dollars top prize. The 18-year-old Malaysian won her first major international title and S$5,000 with a 213-177 victory over Li Hsiao Ping, Chinese Taipei.Â
