Suqin and Hung take different routes to the Masters title at 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships

2007AsYcGirlsMastersWuSuqin_small.jpg 2007AsYcBoysMastersHungKunYi_small.jpg Wu Suqin (l.), China, and Hung Kun Yi (r.), Chinese Taipei, claimed the Girls and Boys Masters titles to end the 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Holiday Inn Lido bowling center in Beijing, China. Top-seeded Suqin topped Zatil Iman, Malaysia, 438-412, while Hung came from behind to win the boys' gold medal against Choi Bok Eum, Korea, 449-382.

Al Shaikh and Amirah emerge as All Events champions in 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships

2007KSAIOBaderAlSheikh_small.jpg 2007AsYCSitiSafiyahAmirah_small.jpg Bader Al Shaikh (l.), Saudi Arabia, and Siti Safiyah Amirah (r.), Malaysia, emerged as boys and girls All Events champions in the 14th Asian Youth Championships in Beijing, China. Two-time Asian Games champion Al Shaikh led the 75-boys field with 3904 and an average of 216.89. Amirah, shot 1287 in the Team event to jump to the top of the 42-girls field with 3683 (204.61).

Kuwait and Korea capture the gold medals in the Four-Player Team event at the 14th Asian Youth Championships

2007AsYCGirlsTeamKOR_small.jpgYun Hee Yeo, Kim Yang Hee, Hwang Sun Ok and Yoo Sung Hee of Korea (pictured left), cruised to victory in the Girls Team event at the 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Beijing, China, with 4840 pinfall total and an average of 201.67. The four Kuwaitis rolled 3-game series of 2576 and 2370 to win the gold medal in the Boys Team event with 4946 and an average of 206.08.

Australia sweeps Doubles titles in 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships

Holiday Inn Lido Beijing in Beijing, China (Aug. 15-22, 2007)

Second sweep in as many events in the 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Holiday Inn Lido Beijing in Beijing, China. After Chinese Taipei won both gold medals in Singles, Australia accomplished the feat in Doubles as Benjamin Coupland/Stephen Cowland and Cassie Staudinger/Bianca Flanagan captured the titles in the Boys and Girls Division. The 14th Asian Youth Championships will continue with the four-player team event on Sunday and Monday.

Chinese Taipei bowlers sweep Singles titles in 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships

Holiday Inn Lido Beijing in Beijing, China (Aug. 15-22, 2007)

Chen Kuan Ting and Hung Kun Yi of Chinese Taipei started the 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Holiday Inn Lido Beijing bowling center in Beijing, China, with victory in the girls and boys Singles competition. Chen posted the highest six-game series of both divisions with 1337, an average of 222.83, en route to win the gold medal in the Girls Singles. Hung rolled six games between 201 and 235 to secure the Boys title with 1283 and an average of 213.83.
