Ryan Lalisang and Sharon Limansantoso, both of Indonesia, took the lead in the men's and women's Masters match play after the first eight games on medium oil at the 21st Asian Championships Saturday at Khalifa Bowling Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Lalisang outaveraged his nearest competitor by more than 23 pins and won seven of his eight matches to take a commanding 205-pin lead in the men's division. Limansantoso averaged 222.75 and leads Haruka Matsuda, Japan by nine pins. 
Overnight leader Korea (l.) with Choi Bok-Eum, Choi Yong-Kyu, Suh Sang-Cheon, Hong Hae-Sol, Cho Young-Seon and Jang Dong-Chul claimed the men's Team gold at the 21st Asian Championships in Abu Dhabi,. The host country UAE got silver and Kuwait took bronze. Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong (r.) was crowned All Events champion while Cho Young-Seon, Korea, and Bahrain's Yousif Falah got silver and bronze.

Korea got off to a blistering start in the men's five-player Team event at the UAE Asian Championships as Choi Bok-Eum, Choi Yong-Kyu, Cho Young-Seon, Suh Sang-Cheon and Jang Dong-Chul tallied a 3310 series (1133-1091-1086), a 220.67 average, to take the lead after three games on short oil. Japan's Misaki Mukotani, Yukari Homma, Rina Asada, Haruka Matsuda and Kanako Ishimine took the lead in the women's five-player Team event at the 21st Asian Championships due to bowling the most consistent block of three games on short oil Friday morning at Khalifa Bowling Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The fivesome totaled 3098 (206.53 ave.) to take a 25-pin lead over defending champion Korea (3073) and a 46-pin edge over Singapore (3052). With three games to go on medium oil, Korea's Hwang Sun-Ok (pictured) maintained a 20-pin lead over Singapore's Daphne Tanin All Events.
Aaron Kong, Muhd Nur Aiman and Syafiq Ridhwan (l-r) knocked down 1894 pins on short oil to win the first gold medal for Malaysia in Men Trios at the 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships Thursday at Khalifa Bowling Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The silver and the bronze medal went to the host country. Korea's Choi Bok-Eum (r.) rolled his second 300 game in this Championship. 
Son Yun-Hee, Shin Bo-Hyun and Gye Min-Young (r-l) captured the first gold medal for the Korean women's team at the 21st Asian Championships by winning the Women Trios event. The Koreans, who took the lead after the first 3-game block on medium oil, rolled the second-highest 1869 series on short oil to win the title with 3851 total (213.94 ave.). Malaysia leaped from fifth to second place to earn the silver medal and Japan maintained the third place to take bronze. 
Aaron Kong, Muhd Nur Aiman and Syafiq Ridhwan (l-r) of Malaysia took a comfortable 84-pin lead in Men Trios at the 21st Asian Championships after the first block on medium oil on Wednesday afternoon. The Malaysians checked in with 2095 pinfall total (232.78). UAE's Sayed Ibrahim, Mahmood Al-Attar and Mohd.Al-Qubaisi, were a distant second with 2011 followed by Kuwait's Basil Al-Anzi, Mohammed Al-Rageebah and Khaled Al-Dubyyan in third place with 1965.
Hong Hae-Sol and Choi Yong-Kyu (pictured, r-l) captured the second gold medal for the Korean men's team as the duo won the Doubles competition with 2682 six-game total and an average of 223.50. Basil Al-Anzi and Khaled Al-Dubyyan, Kuwait, led Squad B with 2672 but fell 10 pins short of the gold medal and settled for the silver medal. Indonesia's Ryan Lalisang and Yeri Ramadona took the bronze with 2638. Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong overtook the lead in All Events. 
Daphne Tan and Bernice Lim (center) of Singapore averaged 225.25 over six team games on medium oil to cruise to the gold medal in Women Doubles in the 21st Asian Championships at Khalifa Bowling Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Jacqueline Sijore and Siti Safiyah Amirah (left) of Malaysia took the silver medal with 2636. Sharon Limansantoso and Putty Armein (right) of Indonesia beat out three Korean Doubles to earn the bronze medal with 2586.
Cho Young-Seon (l.) of Korea captured the first gold medal for Korea in the Men Singles event of the 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships. Young-Seon knocked down 1433 pins in Squad 1 on short oil, and remained unchallenged during the second squad to win the title. Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong, earned the silver medal with 1386. Lexi Nicoll (center) of Australia claimed the first gold medal in the 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships at Khalifa Bowling Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE as she rolled a 1390 six-game series on short oil to win the Women Singles competition. Multiple World and Asian champion Hwang Sun-Ok (l.), Korea, finished strong to tie Siti Shazwani (r.), Malaysia at 1364 to share the silver medal. Places 4-6 went to Korean bowlers Son Yun-Hee, Jeon Eun-Hee and Gye Min-Young.

Choi Jin-A (l.) from Korea and Adrian Ang (r.), Malaysia, were crowned women's and men's Masters champions in 20th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships Friday afternoon at Hong Kong Bowling City in Hong Kong, China. In an all-Korean women's final, Choi, seeded first defeated Gye Min-Young with back-to-back 236 games, 472-445. In an all Malaysian men's final, Ang, the No. 2 seed, flew past Zulmazran Zulkifli, 449-413, thanks to a 279 in the first game. Jeon Eun-Hee, also Korea, and Zhang Peng, China, earned the bronze medals.
Veteran Chester King (center) dished out another sterling performance and teammate Raoul Miranda (left) held his ground to give the Philippines a gold-silver finish in the men's all-events competition Wednesday in the 20th Asian tenpin bowling championships here. King added a three-game series of 648 pins to his Asian 3-game record of 813 of amass a 24-game total of 5,534 (230.58 average) from his singles, doubles, trios and team outings, while Miranda, already the singles bronze medalist, accounted for 5444 (226.83) to hold off United Arab Emirate's Hussain Al-Suwaidi (right), who settled for the bronze win 5366 (223.58). 
The Philippines won the men's trios gold medal in record fashion Wednesday in the 2008 Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships in Hong Kong Bowling City lanes. Chester King, Raoul Miranda and Frederick Ong (l-r) worked hand in hand to accumulate an impressive 4,193 pinfalls (638, 684, 674, 711, 780 and 706) which erased the former Asian record of 3,932 registered by Japan in Indonesia six years ago.
Defending champion Malaysia and runner-up Qatar battled it out for the title in the men's five-player team event in the 20th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships with the same outcome as in Indonesia 2006. The Malaysians won the gold medal and the Qataris had to settle for silver. Korea overtook the Philippines in the final game to earn the bronze medal. Filipinos Chester King and Raoul Miranda claimed the gold and silver medal in All Events with Hussain Al Suwaidi in third.
