Team USA ends PABCON Championship of the Champions with victory in Team Masters

Aseret Zetter, Luis Olivo claim Individual Masters titles

2010PCCoCJohnJanawiczBrendaEdwards_small.jpgTeam USA waited until the last discipline to win its first gold medal and to end the PABCON Championship of the Champions with victory in Team Masters. In the title match Brenda Edwards and John Janawicz (pictured left) defeated Patricia De Faria and Luis Olivo, Venezuela, two-games-to-one. Olivo and Aseret Zetteralso earned the first gold medals for Venezuela and Mexico when they won the men's and women's Masters titles Thursday at Metrobowl in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Colombia, Guatemala share gold medals in Mixed Doubles and All Events at CoC

Manuel Otalora wins three gold medals on the third day of competition

The Colombians teamed to win the gold medal in Mixed Doubles and Country All Events. Otalora earned his third gold in men's All Events, while Granda won her second in women's All Events.

Granda, Colon start PABCON Championship of the Champions with victory in Singles

Top 3 men and women remain unchallenged in second block on short oil

Granda, who rolled a 1576 series Monday in the first block on long oil, added 1825 on short to claim the women's gold medal with 3401 16-game total and an average of 212.56. Colon closed out his 1835 series on short with 770 to cruise to the men's title with 3512 (219.50).

Guatemala. 2009 World Games champion, Manuel Otalora (l.), and fellow Colombian national team member Rocio Restrepo (r.) set the pace in the men's and women's division on the long oil pattern with 1712 and 1675, respectively.

Team USA, Santiago, Janawicz end PABCON Championship of the Champions with victory in Masters event

2008PABCONCoCShannonOKeefeJohnJanawicz_small.jpg A day after a heartbreaking defeat in mixed doubles at the 2008 Pan American Bowling Confederation Championship of the Champions, Team USA's Shannon O'Keefe and John Janawicz (pictured left) rebounded Friday to win the gold medal in the mixed doubles Masters. O'Keefe and Janawicz teamed up to defeat Guatemala's Sofia Granda and Mauricio Pinol, 2-0, at Galaxy Bowling to conclude the inaugural Championship of the Champions. Janawicz won his fifth gold medal of the championships in men's Masters, while Jessica Santiago, Puerto Rico, earnd her second gold in the women's Masters.

Puerto Rico's Jessica Santiago and Francisco Colon (r.) won the gold medal in Mixed Doubles. Team USA earned silver while Colombia's Laura Fonnegra and David Romero and Mexico's Daniel Falconi and Adriana Perez tied for bronze.

Team USA sweeps singles at PABCON Championship of the Champions

2008PABCONCoCShannonOKeefeJohnJanawicz_small.jpg Team USA's John Janawicz and Shannon O'Keefe swept the gold medals in singles Wednesday at the 2008 Pan American Bowling Confederation Championship of the Champions. Janawicz dominated the field, totaling 3,538 for 16 games, an average of 221, and won the title by more than 240 pins. Arturo Hernandez, Venezuela, took the silver with 3,296 and Mark Buffa of Canada won the bronze with 3,248. O'Keefe had a much closer victory, shooting 3,305 to edge Puerto Rico's Jessica Santiago by just 14 pins. Venezuela's Alicia Marcano took the bronze with 3,271.

Team USA's O'Keefe, Janawicz lead PABCON Championship of Champions Singles after Day One

2008TeamUSAJohnJanawicz_small.jpg 2008TEamUSAShannonOKeefe_small.jpg After struggling through a long, sleepless night thanks to a stomach bug, Team USA's Shannon O'Keefe (l.) wasn't sure what to expect in the first Round of singles at the 2008 Pan American Bowling Confederation Championship of the Champions. As it turns out, her illness didn't slow her down Tuesday as she took the lead at the halfway point of the singles event at Galaxy Bowling with 1,667 eight games total. Fellow Team USA member John Janawicz (r.) of Winter Haven, Fla., leads the men with 1,694.

PABCON Championship of the Champions opens

2008PABCONCoCJoseGuandique_small.jpg 2008PABCONCoCLogo_small.jpg The 2008 Pan American Bowling Confederation Championship of the Champions kicked off Monday night with the opening ceremonies at Galaxy Bowling in San Salvador, El Salvador. "This is a proud moment for El Salvador," said PABCON President Jose Guandique (r.) of El Salvador. The tournament begins with 16 games over two days in the singles event and then turns to eight games of mixed doubles action. The top eight in singles and top eight mixed doubles teams will then compete in Masters competition.

Venezuela and Canada send their top players from the 2007 season to the PABCON Championship of the Champions

2006FVBLogo_small.jpg CTFLogo.jpg The Venezuelan Bowling Federation (FVB) and the Canadian Tenpin Federation (CTF) will send their best male and female bowlers from the 2007 season to the inaugural Pan American Bowling Confederation (PABCON, formerly American Zone) Championship of Champions which will be held from June 2-6, 2008 at Galaxy Bowling Center in San Salvador, El Salvador. The Championship serves as the qualifying event for the World Games 2009.

O'Keefe, Janawicz hope training pays off at championship of the champions

2007MAZCJohnJanawicz_small.jpg 2008ShannonOKeefeStorm_small.jpg For Team USA's Shannon O'Keefe and John Janawicz, spending time in the gym is almost as important as getting in practice time on the lanes. both players will put their training to the test at the inaugural Pan American Bowling Confederation Championship of the Champions from June 1-6 in San Salvador, El Salvador, as they hope to earn spots for Team USA in the 2009 World Games.  In the Championship of the Champions, both players will be tested by the best players in the American Zone.

2008 PABCON Championship of the Champions

2008PABCONCoCLogo_small.jpg The Pan American Bowling Confederation (PABCON) will conduct its 1st Championship of the Champions tournament from June 2 to 6, 2008 at Galaxy Bowling Center in San Salvador, El Salvador. Two players - one woman and one man - from each of the PABCON member federations will bowl on dual lane condition for the titles in Women's and Men's Singles and Mixed Doubles. The 2008 PABCON Championship of the Champions also serves as the qualifying event for the World Games 2009, which will be held in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei, July 20-22, 2009.
