Andraunick Simounet (l.) ended the bowling competition of the 21st Central American and Caribbean Games with a surprise victory in Men's Masters. In the best-of-three title match between the two lowest-seeded players, No. 15 Simounet defeated No. 16 Armando Batres (r.), Guatemala, two-games-to-none, to win the second gold medal for the host country. Simounet's compatriot Gabriel Sanchez and Luis Olivo, Venezuela, shared the bronze.

Karen Marcano (l.) from Venezuela won the coveted Women's Masters title in the XXI Central American and Caribbean Games when she defeated Iliana Lomeli (r.), Mexico, two-games-to-none, Sunday at Bolera Caribe in Ponce. In the semis, Marcano, seeded 13th, eliminated No. 16 Sandra Gongora, Mexico, and No. 2 Lomeli ousted No. 3 Clara Juliana Guerrero, Colombia. Lomeli received the silver medal while Gongora and Guerrero shared the bronze.

The Venezuelan women followed in the footprints of the men when they captured the gold medal in the five-player team event at the Central American Games in Puerto Rico. The fivesome led the field of 10 countries with 6380 pinfall total (212.67 ave.). Mexico earned the silver medal and Colombia took the bronze. Colombia's Rocio Restrepo (right) won her

The trio averaged 237 for the last three games to secure the title with 4027 six-game total and an average of 223.72. Mexico was 174 pins behind with 3853 to earn the silver medal with the trios from the Dominican Republic in third and fourth place with 3830 and 3816, respectively

The Colombian women dominated the Trios event in the 21st Central American and Caribbean Games winning gold and bronze at bowling center Caribe in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Paola Gomez, Clara Juliana Guerrero and Rocio Restrepo (pictured r-l) rolled six games between 603 and 673 to win the third bowling gold for Colombia with 3843 pinfall total and an average of 213.50. Venezuela leaped three spots in the final game to earn silver, while the second Colombian trio took the bronze.

Rocio Restrepo won the first gold medal of the Games and Clara Juliana Guerrero added a bronze medal. Sandwiched between the two Colombians was Sofia Granda, Guatemala, who took the silver medal. 72 women from 14 member federations of CONCECABOL will compete for medals in Singles Doubles,

The Bowling competition will be held at Bolera Caribe in Ponce from July 19-25, 2010. Maximum six men and six women from the member federation of CONCECABOL will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Men's and Women's Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Trios, 5-Player Teams, All Events and Masters.
