Storm Products wins Manufacturers Cup in GEICO PBA Team Shootout

Champions rally to upset Brunswick in stepladder final at Six Flags Great Adventure

2010GEICOTeamStormChampion_small.jpgStorm Products with Brian Kretzer, Jason Belmonte, Rhino Page, Norm Duke, Pete Weber and Wes Malott climbed the ladder from bottom rung to top, capturing the inaugural Manufacturers' Cup in the Professional Bowlers Association's GEICO Team Shootout hosted by Six Flags with a dramatic 167-159 Baker team upset of Brunswick in the title match. The final two round-robin team matches and the Manufacturers' Cup stepladder finals aired Sunday on ESPN.

900 Global ends Brunswick's streak in GEICO PBA Team Shootout

After worst game of tournament, Walter Ray and friends topple Brunswick in final qualifying round

2010GEICOTeam900Global_small.jpgAfter suffering through the worst game of the tournament, 900 Global (pictured) and its Hall of Fame anchor bowler Walter Ray Williams Jr. rallied to hand Brunswick its first loss in the Professional Bowlers Association's GEICO Team Shootout hosted by Six Flags. Matches seven, eight, nine and 10 of 12 scheduled Baker scoring system round-robin team matches aired Sunday on ESPN. In Baker team bowling, each member of a five-player team bowls two frames to complete a full game.

Brunswick improves record to 3-0 in GEICO PBA Team Shootout

Ebonite International gets on the board in third round with first victory over 900 Global

2010GEICOTeamBrunswick_small.jpgWith temperatures pushing close to 110 degrees Fahrenheit (>43° Celsius) on the bowling lane surface, the heat of the moment didn't stop Brunswick (pictured) from adding to its Manufacturers' Cup lead after three rounds of competition in the PBA GEICO Team Shootout hosted by Six Flags. The entire series, consisting of six head-to-head matches between each team and a three-match stepladder final, was conducted outdoors on specially-constructed lanes on the grounds of Six Flags Great Adventure.

Brunswick takes early lead in GEICO PBA Team Shootout

Carolyn Dorin-Ballard, "endless 10th frame" play key roles in first day's action

2010GEICOTeamBrunswick_small.jpgWith help from the unique "endless 10th frame" and the only woman in the competition, Team Brunswick (pictured) took the lead in the Manufacturers' Cup standings after the first two rounds of competition in the PBA GEICO Team Shootout hosted by Six Flags. The entire series, consisting of six head-to-head matches between each team plus a three-match stepladder final, was conducted outdoors on specially-constructed lanes on the grounds of one of the Atlantic Coast region's most popular theme parks.

PBA stars to take "Walk in the Park" at Six Flags for children's charities

Cure Kids Cancer, Children's Miracle Network to benefit from GEICO Team Shootout special event

20100522WalkinthePark_small.jpgFour PBA stars are going to take a "Walk in the Park" on Sunday, June 13, to raise money to benefit Cure Kids Cancer and Children's Miracle Network. Seven-time PBA Player of the Year Walter Ray Williams Jr., 33-time PBA Tour winner Norm Duke (l.), 15-time PBA champion Jason Couch and two-time PBA Women's Series titlist Carolyn Dorin-Ballard representing Brunswick, will participate in a one-mile walk through Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson to raise money for the children's charities.

Bowling manufacturers set to do battle in GEICO PBA Team Shootout

Six Flags Great Adventure to host fourth annual special event June 11-12 in Jackson, N.J.

PBA1958Logo_mini.jpgFour of bowling's leading ball manufacturing companies are going to do battle when Six Flags Great Adventure hosts the GEICO PBA Team Shootout in Jackson, N.J., June 11-12. ESPN will air the 15-segment series beginning June 27. For the fourth summer in a row, stars of the PBA will don shorts and sunglasses, and bowl outdoors on specially-constructed lanes at Six Flags Great Adventure in a made-for-television team competition. The 2010 twist to the Baker team battle will feature Brunswick, Ebonite International, Storm Products and 900 Global – rival bowling ball manufacturers who have selected their own teams.

Michelle Feldman saves best for last in PBA Women's Series Showdown

Stars align to give 11-time women's tour champion a shot at $25,000 end-of-season prize

200910PBA13MichelleFeldman_small.jpgMichelle Feldman (pictured) of Auburn, N.Y., concluded a personally disappointing season with a resounding victory in the PBA Women's Series Showdown presented by BOWL.COM at the International Training and Research Center. Feldman, who got into the PBA Tour special event by a sequence of fortunate breaks, was nearly perfect in the competition that aired on ESPN Sunday, defeating Shannon Pluhowsky of Kettering, Ohio, and Stefanie Nation of Grand Prairie, Texas, for a $25,000 first prize.

The PBA Women's Series Showdown, presented by BOWL.COM, will air on ESPN Sunday, April 18 at 1 p.m.  and feature PBA Women's Series stars Kelly Kulick (l.) , Liz Johnson, Shannon Pluhowsky, Michelle Feldman, Carolyn Dorin-Ballard and Stefanie Nation.

Rhino Page makes big shots to win PBA Experience Showdown

Viper Champion nips O’Neill to win $25,000 bonus prize at International Training and Research Center

Page, the Viper Champion in a field of five Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour stars won $25,000 in an abbreviated five-frame 108-104 decision over O’Neill in a PBA Tour special event that aired on ESPN Sunday.

PBA action continues Sunday on ESPN with PBA Experience Showdown

2010PBAExperienceShowdownBanner_small.jpgThe 2009-10 Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour's regular season is over, but competition continues Sunday on ESPN with the first of two special events from the new International Training and Research Center located on the International Bowling Campus. Eleven of the sport's top players and six USBC league bowlers will compete in the PBA Experience Showdown and the PBA Women's Series Showdown, which will air on ESPN on Sundays April 11 and April 18 at 1 p.m. Eastern, respectively.

The duo defeated LaMarr Woodley (r.) and Norm Duke in the title match, 180-177.

Sunday's Chris Paul PBA Celebrity Invitational features a-list lineup

PBAEst1958_small.jpgWith the help of four Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour stars and a star-studded lineup of celebrities, New Orleans Hornets All-Star point guard Chris Paul will again highlight his "second-favorite sport" in the second annual Chris Paul PBA Celebrity Invitational which airs Sunday at 2 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. Celebrity icons Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Hines Ward, LaMarr Woodley Jack Del Rio teamed with PBA stars Pete Weber, Norm Duke, Wes Malott and Jason Belmonte in a unique doubles competition to benefit Paul's CP3 Foundation.

GEICO PBA Team Shootout showdown set for Sunday with Final Four ESPN telecasts

2009GeicoShootoutTeamgeico_small.jpgThe GEICO PBA Team Shootout Hosted by Six Flags heads down the homestretch this Sunday when the championship rounds air beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.  After week 3, Team GEICO (pictured left) clinched a berth in the championship round with a 5-2 match play record. Sunday’s opening telecast will be the final round-robin match that will determine whether Team Lumber Liquidators or Team Bayer will advance to the championship round to battle Team GEICO in a series of singles, doubles and Baker-style team matches for the $108,000 first prize.

ESPN to air seven GEICO PBA Team Shootout matches this Sunday

Team GEICO, with Lumber Liquidators Professional Bowlers Association Tour stars Chris Barnes, Patrick Allen, Mike Wolfe, Mika Koivuniemi, reigning Player of the Year Wes Malott and Brad Angelo, has taken a 2-1 lead after four round-robin matches in the made-for-TV team tournament.

After an opening match loss in Week 1, Team GEICO, with Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour stars Chris Barnes, Patrick Allen, Mike Wolfe, Mika Koivuniemi, Wes Malott and Brad Angelo, rallied to a 2-1 record after four round-robin matches in the GEICO PBA Team Shootout Hosted by Six Flags. The made-for-TV outdoor event, televised by ESPN and conducted on specially-constructed lanes at New Jersey’s Six Flags Great Adventure theme park, features three of the best teams ever assembled.

The GEICO PBA Team Shootout Hosted by Six Flags was conducted outdoors on specially-constructed lanes at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J., June 11-13. Round-robin team matches air Sundays on ESPN through July 12.

Malott records perfect ending to "King of Bowling" series

Record second televised 300 game confirms his PBA Player of the Year status

PBA Player of the Year Wes Malott of Pflugerville, Texas, became the first bowler in PBA history to bowl two nationally-televised 300 games, defeating Parker Bohn III of Jackson, N.J., 300-223, in the King of Bowling by Amp Energy series finale at Kegel Training Center. The victory, televised Wednesday on ESPN2, was Malott's fifth consecutive as he swept the King of Bowling series, earning a grand total of $50,000.
