American Rankings

AmZPresidentJoseGuandique.jpg Pan American Bowling Confederation President José Guandique (pictured left) from El Salvador has released the latest standings in the PABCON rankings. Since the ranking season 2006, the PABCON, formerly the WTBA American Zone, is divided geographically into five regions.

The Northern Region consists of only two countries, Canada and United States of America.

The Central American Region includes El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

The Caribbean countries Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Cuba, Dominican Republic, the Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands are combined in the Caribbean Region.

South America is divided in two regions: South Region 1 with Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Venezuela and South Region 2 featuring Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

The top 12 men and the top 12 women in each of the five regions at the end of the season will qualify for the "American Zone Ranking Final" scheduled for February 24 through 28, 2008. According to Mr. Guandique, PABCON will announce the venue soon.

The 60 male and 60 female qualifiers will determine the 8 men and 8 women, who will represent the PABCON in the 2008 World Ranking Masters at the Senayan Bowling Sportainment Center in Jakarta, Indonesia, from April 30 through May 6, 2008.
