Lotthe, Sandbækken lead top 12 into Final Round 4 in Norwegian Open

2007EBT17XavierLotthe.jpg Xavier Lotthe (left), France and Mads Sandbækken (below on the right), Norway, both lefties, ended the fourth round of the finals in the Norwegian Open, the 17th event of the 2007 European Bowling Tour, with a 947 tie to lead the top 12 players into the next round. Both players have each rolled one of seven 300 games in the qualifying.

2007EBT17TonyFranssonMadsSandbakken.jpg Jesper Agerbo, Denmark, was mere one pin behind in third place (946), with Tony Fransson (on the right in the black shirt), Sweden, another two pins behind in fourth, 944.

Round 2 leader Svein Roger Olsen, Norway, led the field after three games but finished in fifth place behind a 179 final game with 913.

2007EBT17GhislainevanderTol.jpg Ghislaine van der Tol (left) is one of the two remaining women in the finals. The Dutch lefty, who won the EBT titles in Malta and San Marino this year, was sixth with 894 including 32 pins handicap.

Ingunn Øien
(right), Norway, who was the top-ranked female bowler in the NO qualifying, made the cut in 10th place with 861.

Qualifying winner Robert Andersson and Marcus Berndt, both Sweden, struck out to survive the cut in 11th and 12 place with 853 and 843, respectively.

The top 12 from round three advanced to round four. All players will bowl two games from scratch to cut to the top 8, then to the top four, who advance to the semi-finals (No. 1 vs. No. 4, No. 2 vs. No. 3). The winners of these one-game matches will bowl for the title and the 60.000 NOK top prize.
