Singapore's Lim takes the lead in Women's Masters, Koreans Oh and Lee co-leaders in Men's Masters

Bernice Lim (center) from Singapore stunned the favorites from Busan, Korea, when she finished the first block of eight games with a 223 game victory en route to take the halftime lead in the women's Masters final at the 21st Asian Intercity Bowling Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Lim had five games over 200 and won four of her eight matches to lead the field of the top 16 women from All Events with 1742 total including 10 pins bonus per win and an average of 212.75.
Places two through 5 belong to the favorites from Busan. Jang Jee Hyang (left) is second with 1718 and a 4-4 won-loss record. Park Eun Sun (right) won five matches to sit in third place with 1664. Fourth place belongs to An Yu Ri with 1657 (5-3).
Yoo Sung Hee, who has won the gold medals in all previous events (Singles, Doubles, Team and All Events) is 94 pins behind leader Lim in fifth place with 1598 (199.75) and a 5-3 won-loss record.
6th placed Lily Go (1600), Jakarta, and 9th placed Angeli Lao (1552), Pasay, had the field-best 6-2 match play record.
On the men's side, two Koreans are deadlocked at 1796 before the final seven games round robin and the final position round game. 2007 ABF Tour Philippine leg champion Oh Young Gi (left) of Uiwang City finished day one with 1756 8-game total, an average of 219.50, an compiled a 4-4 match play record for 1796 pinfall total.
Lee Dong Hee (center) of Pohang City, who started with a huge 289 game closed out the series with a 228-game victory for 1746 and a 5-3 record to tie his compatriot with 1796.
David Sitorus (right) from the host city of Jakarta is mere 32 pins behind the co-leaders in third place with 1664 (4-4). Just seven pins off the pace for the medals is Purvis Granger, Paranaque, Philippines, who is fourth at 1757 (5-3).
Three more players cracked the 1700-bar, trailing the leaders by less than 100 pins. Benjamin Lim, Singapore, is fifth with 1752, while Daegu's 3-time gold medalist Kim Young Pyo and Park Hee Jeong, who had the best match play record with 7-1, sit in sixth and seventh place with 1723 and 1718, respectively.
Singles champion Mark Wong, Singapore, averaged 179.75 for his eight games and lost all eight matches to sit at the end of the table with 1438.
