The Koreans won their both matches by 98 pins. In the Opening match, they put on a show to defeat No. 3 seed Anne Gales and Rikke Rasmussen, Denmark, 484-386, and carried the momentum into the title match against Carol Gianotti and Ann Maree Putney (right, r-l), Australia.

Gianotti, a 16-time PWBA champion and 1998 PWBA Player of the Year, and Putney, a World and World Cup champion, eliminated the second Korean duo, top seeded Son Yun-Hee and Hong Su-Yeon, in a close semifinal match, 417-409.

The Koreans pulled away early and never looked back to cruise to victory, 458-360, en route to win the gold medal. The Aussie captured silver while the Danes and the Koreans shared the bronze medal.
