Clara Juliana Guerrero wins the Masters gold in the Women's World Championships
2009 WWC
Claims her second title after her victory in All Events

Top seeded Clara Juliana Guerrero (pictured left) from Colombia won her second individual gold of the 2009 Women's World Championships Sunday at the Cashman Center in Las Vegas when she defeated Doubles and Team World Champion Hwang Sun-Ok (right), Korea, in the Masters final, three-games-to-two. Hwang earned silver, while her team mates Son Yun-Hee and Gang Hye-Eun shared the bronze.
Guerrero, as the top seed, had chosen to start the title match on the short pattern like in the three previous matches in which she defeated Siti Safiyah Amirah, Malaysia (3-2), Putty Armein, Indonesia (3-1) and Son Yun-Hee, Korea (3-0), averaging over 232 for 12 games.
In her sweep against Son, Guerrero posted the highest 3-game series ever in the history of the World Championships behind games of 248, 268 and 289 for an 805 total. The 2005 World Ranking Masters champion defeated Hwang, who averaged over 237 for the first rounds, in a surprisingly low-scoring game, 205-185. Hwang mad a ball change at the end of that game and rebounded with 263 and 257 to take a 2-1 heading into game #4.
Guerrero managed to win the fourth game by five pins, 197-192, and secured the title in a nerve-wrecking decider, 203-182 (pictured left).
