Barrett, Flack atop the rankings as 2010 European Bowling Tour reaches halfway point

2010 European Bowling Tour Rankings

2010EBT10DominicBarrett2.jpg2010EBT08NinaFlack.jpgDominic Barrett (pictured left), England, and Nina Flack (right), Sweden, sit atop the men's and women's rankings as the 2010 European Bowling Tour reached its halfway point at the 1st Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open in Unterföhring, Germany.

Barrett, gold medalist in Masters at the 2009 European Championships, who finished second to ranking champion Osku Palermaa (below left), Finland, in the past two seasons, widened his lead to 116 points due to a 4th place finish, 3rd place in the men's ranking, at Dream-Bowl Place, host of the 2010 Men's World Championships.

2010EBT10OskuPalermaa.jpg2010EBT10MikaKoivuniemi.jpgBarrett leads a field of 319 men with after 10 out of 19 events with 620 ranking point total. 8-time PBA champion Mika Koivuniemi (right), Finland, remained in second place with 504 points after finishing 9th in Unterföhring and 8th in the men's ranking. Palermaa was two places behind his compatriot to maintain his third place with 438 points.

While six of the top 10 men competed in the 1st Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open, there were only one of the top 10 women present. Nicole Sanders (below left), Netherlands, move from 7th to 6th place with 284 points behind a 15th place finish in the women's rankings and 124th overall.

2010EBT10NicoleSanders.jpg2010EBT10GhislainevanderTol.jpgHer compatriot Ghislaine van der Tol (right), who won her third Open title at the 1st Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open and the 7th women ranking title in her career, received 100 ranking points besides the 10.000 Euro top prize to jump from 18th to 7th place in the rankings with 278 points.

2008 women's ranking champion Nina Flack, Sweden, held on to the lead with 452 points. The top 5 remained unchanged with Tina Hulsch, Germany, in second at 353, Rebecka Larsen Jr., Sweden, third (325), Joline Persson Planefors, Sweden, 4th (301) and recently crowned European Championships Masters queen, Krista Pöllänen, Finland, in 5th place with 285 points.

2010EBTLogo_small.jpgSince the Ankara Open and the Austria Challenge have been cancelled, the 2010 EBT Tour consists of 19 events - 2 EBT Platinum tournament (formerly Premier), 6 EBT Gold tournaments (formerly Major), 7 EBT Silver tournaments (formerly Challenger) and 4 EBT Satellite tournaments (new category).

The winner of a Platinum tournament receives 250 ranking points, the winner of a Gold tournament gets 150, the winner of a Silver tournament such as the 1st Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open gets 100, and the winner of a Satellite tournament gets 50 ranking points.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each tournament of the 2010 European Bowling Tour will cash ranking points no matter from which country or World Tenpin Bowling Association Zone (Europe, Asia, America) he or she comes.

The top 16 men and the top 16 women at the end of the 2010 EBT season will qualify for the 2011 EBT Masters to be held at Gladiator Arena in Ljubljana, Slovenia, April 11-12, 2011.

The European Bowling Tour is in San Marino this week for the 6th Storm San Marino Open at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle, San Marino. The finals will on Sunday, July 11th.
