At the victory banquet of the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia in November 2009 it was announced that the 2010 edition of one of bowling's most prestigious tournaments will be held in Zagreb, Croatia. QubicaAMF Worldwide, founder, organizer and principal sponsor of the Bowling World Cup and one of the largest bowling products companies in the world, has now confirmed that the 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup will be held in the Croatian capital from Oct. 15-24, 2010.

The German Bowling Federation (DBU), host of the 2010 World Tenpin Bowling Association Men’s World Championships, has released the Bulletin No. 1 for the championships which will be held from Aug. 11-22, 2010 in Munich, Germany. The 2010 MWC will be staged at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany, a state-of-the-art 52-laner in Unterföhring, a suburb of the city of Munich, close to Munich International Airport. Bulletin No. 1 contains information about the tentative schedule, official hotels, Dream-Bowl Palace, Munich, committees, facilities and services, fees as well as forms and deadlines.
QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Manager Anne-Marie Board has announced the TV transmission times for the stepladder finals of the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia (Nov. 13-20, 2009.) The men's show will feature No. 1 Choi Yong-Kyu, Korea, No. 2 Michael Schmidt, Canada and No. 3 Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia. The women's final will feature No. 1 seed Caroline Lagrange, Canada, No. 2 Siti Safiyah Amirah, Malaysia, and No. 3 Zara Giles, England.
Project gives players eight months for preparation
The 2010 Men's World Championship is exactly eight months away (Aug. 11-22, 2010) but Swedish national team coach Tomas Leandersson (l.) has already nominated the six players for the Swedish national team for Munich, Germany. "It has never happened before that we decided the team eight months ahead," stated Leandersson,. "However, this is a project where we want to see the outcome when the players get the possibility of a much longer time for preparation before the championship."

Denies Michael Schmidt's bid for second World Cup title
Choi Yong-Kyu (pictured left), who has dominated the men's division of the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia since the second qualifying block, captured the first World Cup title for Korea in the 45-year history of the prestigious event. In the title match top seeded Choi swept 2005 BWC champion Michael Schmidt, Canada, 2-0, and denied Schmidt's bid to become just the second men to win multiple titles. Schmidt also made quick work of No. 3 seed, Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia, in the opening match. The 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup will be held in Zagreb, Croatia (Oct. 16-23, 2010, tbc).

Top seeded Caroline Lagrange (l.) from Canada came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat No. 3 seed Zara Giles, England, two-games-to-one to win the women's title in the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia. Lagrange dropped the first game, 189-194, but rebounded with a 210-181 win to level the match. Needing a double and four to win the decisive game, Lagrange delivered three strikes to seal the victory, 218-211. Giles swept No. 2 seed Siti Safiyah Amirah, Malaysia, in the opening match.
Eventual World Cup champion Choi Yong-Kyu from Korea, rolled the sole 300 game of the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in the sixth game of round robin match play (38th game overall) on Thursday morning Nov. 19 at Melaka International Bowling Center in Melaka, Malaysia. It was the 44th perfecto in the World Cup history and the 35th by a man. Another first for Choi as he was the first Korean bowler, man or woman, to accomplish the feat.
